Kim Mendoza - I Really Love You

Kimberly Mendoza started leading songs with her church’s youth choir at the age of 3. In this time, she discovered that she wanted to sing for God for the rest of her life. Although, she didn’t always have it easy.

Kim grew up with 7 other siblings. Enough money was hard to come by for a family of this size. Yet, God helped them get through these tough times.Though ridiculed in her early years of school for not always being able to afford the latest fashions, Kim found comfort in singing gospel songs to herself when friends were few. Later, Kimberly took a vow in college that she would only use her voice for Christ.

While in attendance at La Tech University, she traveled and sang with the school’s gospel choir, “Souls on Fire”. After getting married, graduating and having a baby boy in one year, she decided she would continue pursuing more of her goals by furthering her career in music. This decision lead her to record her first single, “I really Love You”. This song can be found on Itunes, Cdbaby,, and Google Play. She has come to find out through all of her life that God has always been there and that he really loves us. It is her desire to share that message with the world!

In society, one of the toughest things you can do is stand for what you believe. Yet, we are taught through the word of God that no matter what the consequence, we have to take a stand……. In light of all the terrible things going on in society, it was my heart’s desire to create an inspirational music video. From the deaths of our children, our BLACK men, to the persecution of the Christians on every hand……. From ISIS using Christians for target practice to the horrible weather that has been killing our families and plaguing our land. I have realized how much I truly I need Jesus. How much WE need JESUS. I pray that this gives someone encouragement and pushes us to pray more for our society. In our own strength we can’t do anything. Yet, we can do all things through Christ which gives us strength. Listen, watch, and Enjoy! Artist: Kimberly Mendoza; Producer: Mark Taylor; Videographer: Phillip Bowman

Spirit2Spirit - Message
Often dubbed “The Earth, Wind, & Fire of Gospel”, the driving force behind Spirit 2 Spirit is two brothers, Michael and Denny Jenkins. Together the two have over 50 years of musical experience. Michael plays bass, keyboards, and percussion. He has done lead and background vocals. He is a truly blessed lyrical writer, arranger personified, and a technical engineer, whose creativity in digital recording, editing, and mastering is unequaled. His ability to get the best out of an individual (not limited to musical or vocal artists) permits him to meet the challenge all producers and writers face in creating a viable product to be loved and cherished by the general public, as well as revered and respected by those in the industry.
Denny, by design, is a percussionist who uses the keyboards to enhance his song writing ability. His strength lies in his lyric writing, and arrangements, and he sings lead and background vocals. He is a published poet who whishes to perform, and produce and remain humble and modest in spite of the hype often associated with success in the musical industry. He wants most of all to make a contribution to God’s creation that in some way helps in the healing process, and share with anyone willing to listen. The brothers have a musical background wherein their father, the late Thomas Jenkins helped form, manage, and sing for the Gospel Quartet “THE MIGHTY SOUTHERN ECHOES” of Washington D.C. The group’s name was retired in 1999 by Mr. Thomas Jenkins, Co-Founder, after 48 years of praising our Lord God in music and in faith. Michael and Denny were also blessed with the opportunity to play with their father‘s group a couple of years before it’s retirement, and decided to continue their father’s legacy through the group “SPIRIT 2 SPIRIT”.
Spirit 2 Spirit Is: Michael Jenkins: Bass Guitar, Keyboard Programming and Background Vocals. Denny Jenkins: Percussion, Keyboard Programming, Lead and Background Vocals. Group Associates: Curtis Day: Guitar, Keyboards, Lead and Background Vocals. Tony Carr: Guitar. The musical talents that arise from New Orleans have given the world a flavorful taste of how art and entertainment can truly impact a soul. Daphanne Poole, a vocalist extraordinaire, grew up in the Lower 9TH Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. Embodying her homegrown roots of musical talent, Poole’s passion for singing started at the meek age of four years old, since then she has gained exposure in the Gospel genre through soloist, choral directing and theatre performances and opportunities. She was granted the opportunity to study Musical Theatre at NOCCA while delivering soulful melodies in the high school chorale at G.W. Carver High School.
Poole introduced her talent for theatre production by co- directing Vinnette Carroll, “Your Arms Too Short to Box with God”. Destiny then propelled her in to the company of local Gospel artist, Raymond A. Myles, which allotted her a position in his musical group, The RAMS. Daphanne attended Grambling State University in Louisiana on a vocal scholarship. Her passion for cultural arts and entertainment blossomed her into her life’s calling of Gospel entertainment. Dee influences and vocal inspirations include Sarah Vaughn, Mahalia Jackson, Betty Carter, Phyllis Hyman, Peabo Bryson, Daryl Coley, Marvin Winans, Paul Morton and Helen Baylor. Dee’s extensive and impressive resume includes: backgrounds and demo sampling for Stellar Award and Grammy Award winning artists and producers such as, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Oleta Adams, Michael Robinson, Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Mass Choir and The New Orleans Symphony. Daphanne’s daily affirmation is reflected through biblical scripture. As an organic musical talent, she allows God to use her as a catalyst of change in the music industry by delivering heartfelt melodies, which mimic the sounds of Jazz and Blues, but extort the praises of God with her deep and clear contralto voice. “I Can Do All Things through Christ which strengthens me. And I believe as long as I stay true to myself and with others, continue to love my family, attend, participate and tithe at my church and remain humble, All things that GOD has in store for me will not only come to past and will work in my favor.” – Daphanne Poole

James Kelly Fox Davis & ABF

James “Kelly Fox!” Davis is a native of Washington, DC, and is a member and Director of Music of the Kettering Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, MD, under the leadership of the great Senior Pastor, Bucas Sterling, III.

James attended the Ellington School of the Arts, and studied classical and jazz instrumental music. He grew up in church, and accepted Jesus at an early age, at the Antioch Baptist Church, in Washington, DC.
James began tapping out familiar melodies on his family’s upright piano at a very early age. His parents immediately recognized his gift and knew what direction to guide him. After studying privately 6 years, he auditioned and was accepted to the Ellington School of the Arts where he studied classical piano for one year. It was here where James first picked up and fell in love with the saxophone. He dropped piano and changed his major to saxophone after one year of playing, and focused on jazz studies.
Upon graduating Ellington, James continued his music studies at the University of the District of Columbia as a Music Education major. It was there that he began to be exposed to gospel music and playing in a new light. He began hanging out in the practice modules and learning from other talented gospel musicians, i.e., William Becton, Gerry Gillespie, and Kenneth Gross. It was then that he was inspired to learn more about and how to play gospel music.
James began playing for his first church choir at the age of 18. It was then that he wrote his first gospel song “Jesus Paid It All” along with his then Pastor, David K. North.

Ki Johnson

A singer. A songwriter. Her musical DNA has allowed her to surpass the walls of the church to night clubs, political programs, women’s conferences and intimate gatherings. She has performed at venues such as The Grove, BB Kings, Skinny’s in Hollywood, Cal State Fullerton, The Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Inland Valley Jazz Festival. Her first album, “Butterfly Notes” was released in 2006 and managed to create much positive buzz on the Indie Gospel scene. Her style has been described as unique, soulful, melodic, and motivational. To attend a Ki Johnson performance is truly an experience. She gets her audience involved. Ki stands on stage and will ask her audience how they feel about a subject or what’s on their heart. She then takes what was randomly said by her audience and writes a song on the spot. She feels the goal of her music is to “write/sing you a song with words that will stay on your heart, not just for five minutes, but for a life time.” Mrs. Johnson is currently at work on her sophomore album and can be seen performing at venues across California.
